SNM Machine Operator - Booneville, MS

Under the direction of the Production management Team, this individual will be responsible for the flow of natural cheese through the cutting, packaging and casing process.  The primary functions are to deliver maximum line throughput, achieve required package integrity while fully utilizing every ounce of raw material.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining equipment and making necessary machine adjustments to meet product quality standards.
• Use cutting, cubing and shredding equipment setup for correct sizing.
• Assemble and align guides, chutes and shrouding on the wrapper and scaling system.
• Ensure the scaling operation is fully functional.
• Conduct the pre-operational inspection.
• Adjust heat settings and enter operating parameters.
• Enter correct code dates and required identity data.
• Secure packaging materials, verify against the production schedule and position on the machine.
• Conduct repairs, replacements, lubrication and preventative measures as required.
• Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and established safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain downtime tracking document including corrective actions, root and repetitive causes.
• Conduct all the required Quality Checks in a timely manner and document.
• Understand and utilize box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment.
• Inspect powder application equipment setup and perform calibration/documentation.
• Change over the line to the required size package along with all associated equipment.
• Perform sanitation of the work area and equipment as needed.
• Willing to assist in training for the position when needed.
• Must be dependable and have a certain degree of flexibility to work overtime, different shifts and Saturdays and Sundays when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervision.

• Must be mechanically inclined and able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment assessments to meet minimum requirements for the position.

• Must be able to write descriptive and legible work orders, and follow up on completion.
• Willing to assist in training for the position when needed

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred . Education beyond High School would be a plus. Forklift experience is desirable. Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus.

Working Conditions

Work inside a clean climate controlled manufacturing environment. Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.

Core Hours

1st Shift:  Monday thru Friday, 5:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. *Saturday hours are generally 5:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs

2nd Shift:  Monday thru Friday, 1:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. *Saturday hours are generally 11:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.

3rd Shift:  Monday thru Friday, 9:45 p.m. to 6 a.m. *Saturday hours are generally 5:45 p.m. to 12 a.m. or until Sanitation is complete.  Please note we have a Monday night start for 3rd Shift.  Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.
