Specifications Coordinator - Finished Products

This position is responsible for maintaining finished product specifications and related documentation for all cheese products processed by Marathon Cheese Corporation (MCC). This is a 1st shift position in our Corporate Office and reports to the Director of Regulatory and Product Realization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The following documentation is to be maintained for all MCC products:
    • Finished product specifications
    • Customer specifications
    • Nutritional information
    • Product formulations
    • Back-up to Manufacturing Specifications Coordinator
      • Manufacturing specifications
      • Processing instructions
      • Processing parameters
  • Internal and external communication of new product specifications and associated documentation, including changes to existing products and new products
  • Maintain records of changes made to specifications.
  • Coordinate MCC product documentation reviews to include customer specifications and other documentation as needed.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of potential basic food safety and food quality risks, e.g. chemical, microbial and physical controls, and labeling requirements.

Education/Experience:

An Associate degree in Science is preferred. A minimum of one year experience in a food manufacturing environment; or an equivalent education/experience is required.

Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • The incumbent will possess the following attributes:
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word. Any experience in SAP, MCC Software, Liquid UI, NutriForm and/or Genesis R&D are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work individually and with fellow employees within and outside the department.
