We are conducting an internal/external search for a Shipping/Receiving Office Supervisor on 1st shift in our Marathon City location.  Hours are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.  This position reports to the Inventory Control and Logistics Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize inbound/outbound loads for other MCC locations
  • Call production to assure completion of product for shipment
  • Responsible for record keeping and smooth operation of paperwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Willing to assist in training for the position when needed
  • Production Planning:
    • Ensure materials and supplies are in the correct locations to support production demand and customer shipments specifically for “Run to Stock” customers (this includes new customer and new item launches)
    • Evaluate production, storage and shipment scenarios within and between locations to identify efficiency improvements and reductions in handling and labor
    • Participate and present data as required in planning meetings with production management, sales management, purchasing management, distribution management
    • Manage the set up and shipment of transferred items between plants including the historical miscellaneous ingredients and the FG shipments as required
  • Inventory Management and Safety Stock Management:
    • Create reports for internal and external (customers) that simply and accurately communicate the status and need of existing inventory at the various shipping locations
    • Creates and maintains reports for internal use which are used for tracking and discussion with customer group meetings
  • Shipping Office Management:
    • Process ownership to assure consistent procedures and behaviors across all locations.  Dotted line reporting relationship with all Traffic Clerks.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills:  specifically Excel and experience as a SAP user
  • Strategic thinking ability.  Able to understand processes from a very narrow view (hands on) to a companywide impact view
  • Overall understanding and experience in a manufacturing management environment
  • Open mind to new ideas, industry rends and eager to learn best practices that can be implemented in our company
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
  • Very good interpersonal, organizational and written skills along with strong math skills
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
  • Prior shipping/receiving experience a plus
  • Read and understand freight lists, bills of lading, terminology, abbreviations
  • Ability to solve concerns and deal with a variety of variables or situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public both in persona and over the telephone to facilitate operations
  • Must be dependable and have a certain degree of flexibility to work overtime and Saturday and Sundays when needed as well as back up other positions as required
