The Vice President of Business Development will plan and lead strategic initiatives to drive revenue, margin and volume growth, expand markets and develop new business opportunities. The incumbent will lead a team of business development professionals responsible for achieving identified targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies, plans and processes to drive profitable volume, expand markets and achieve financial objectives.
  • Actively participate, including cross-functional collaboration, in company strategy as a key member of the Executive team
  • Identify, evaluate and prioritize new markets, partners, channels and customers.
  • Lead and motivate a business development team, providing guidance, coaching, accountability and support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, partners and customers.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis and SWOT analysis to identify opportunities to direct strategy.
  • Manage the business development and new products pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, finance, packaging development and other departments to achieve business development goals.
  • Lead and participate in teams focused on accelerating product and packaging innovation.
  • Provide tools to track and analyze business development performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences and client meetings.
  • Elevate internal knowledge of cheese category through regular dissemination of Circana market data and sharing market context.
  • Collaborate across functions to facilitate appropriate outcomes related to customer returns and deductions.
  • Engage internally and externally to oversee all customer related legal and business documents including customer contracts.
  • Oversee communication strategies, quality of customer presentations, and selling messages.
  • Facilitate standardization of internal business processes that support customer initiatives.
  • Any additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales/Marketing or related field. Master’s Degree a plus.
  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in business development leadership, including experience managing teams of people.
  • Specific experience in the food and beverage space a must. Packaging experience a plus.
  • Significant experience and relationships with primary domestic retailers and club stores.
  • A proven history of fostering teamwork, partnerships and collaboration.
  • Strong desire to grow volume and proven approach to do so.

Work Environment

Primarily in an office environment. This position will require day and/or overnight travel to other company facilities, customer locations and industry events.
