Position Summary:

This position is responsible for maintenance of regulatory and compliance functions of the Marathon Cheese Corporate Quality team. This role is critical to providing information associated with customer regulatory and compliance requests and providing administrative support for both the Corporate Supplier Quality function and the Director of Quality. This role is essential to coordinating and fulfilling requests for customers and MCC Business Development. In addition, the Regulatory Specialist helps maintain and manage certification applications, corporate-wide identity preserved program compliance (i.e., USDA Organic, Halal), legal agreements (e.g., NDAs, supplier agreements), affidavits and scheduling of audits for MCC facilities.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Provide support and act as a back-up when necessary for the document management specialist and the document/specification management systems.
  • Act as a backup for the finished product and manufacturing specification coordinators where necessary
  • Maintain State Food Manufacturing Licenses/Permitting, MCC Plant FDA Bioterrorism Registrations including emergency contact lists
  • Coordinate and support corporate compliance communication necessary for Customer support and MCC Business Development
    • Draft affidavits and statements of compliance necessary for customer regulatory compliance and export records
    • Complete customer supplier surveys and questionnaires for MCC plants with local quality support where necessary
    • Complete requests for quality documentation including the maintenance of customer compliance portals (e.g., Tracegains, Repositrak, FoodLogicIQ, SafetyChain etc.)
    • Utilize customer and third party certification portals as needed
  • Support maintenance of Corporate Supplier Quality Systems
    • Monitor and maintain defect entries into the corporate supplier defect /corrective action register
    • Act as back up for defect handling, defect submission and communication for the Corporate Supplier Quality Manager
    • Support Corporate Supplier Quality by maintaining compliance records and annual review, approval and renewal
  • Maintain 3rd party certification renewals and services for MCC Plants
    • Support completion of certification renewal applications (e.g., GFSI, Organic, halal etc.)
    • Supervise National Organic Program addendum updates and communication with Organic System Plan Reviewers
    • Coordinate scheduling of audits with MCC plants
    • Provide support for MCC plants during certification renewal audits and assessments
  • Support plant and corporate quality by assisting with review and revision of quality and food safety management system documentation where necessary
  • Complete requests for letters and emails on behalf of quality management
  • Assist with shipping of small items where necessary
  • Support export shipping arrangements, including regulatory documentation

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or 2+ years in food quality or regulatory compliance required
  • Certifications & Licenses: PCQI, HACCP, Public Notary are preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Exposure to food manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to work well and contribute as part of a team
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Self-starter and the ability to learn on own
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
