Currently there is a need for a full-time Specification Coordinator on 1st shift reporting as a corporate position to the Director-Quality Control & Assurance.

Essential Functions

  • The following documentation is to be maintained for all MCC products:
    • Operational specifications
    • Bill of Materials quality content
      • Processing Parameters
      • Processing Instructions
      • Product Formulations
      • Verification of content to relevant specifications
  • Timely communication of new and changing operational specifications and associated quality documentation for new and existing products to designated MCC personnel at each manufacturing location.
  • Liaison with Customer Service, Operations, Packaging and additional resources as needed.
  • Maintain historical records of changes made to specifications using the corporate specification management system
  • Coordinate MCC processing and finished product documentation reviews to include operational specifications and customer specifications
  • Maintain a strong understanding of potential basic food safety and food quality concerns
    • Product sequencing
    • Identity preservation and labeling
    • Process quality control
    • Chemical, physical and microbial controls against potential risks
  • Back-up to Finished Product Specifications Coordinator including ability to on an as needed basis generate:
    • Finished product specifications
    • Customer specifications
    • Nutritional information
    • Product formulations
  • Coordinate MCC product documentation reviews to include customer specifications and other documentation as needed.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of potential basic food safety and food quality risks, e.g. chemical, microbial and physical controls, and labeling requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
  • 3 or more years of experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and SAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled and experienced in process improvement and development of standard operation procedures
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Ability to work with individually and with fellow employees within and outside the department
  • It is important for this person to be dependable and have a certain degree of flexibility to work overtime, and Saturdays when necessary
